Creative Movement

Creative movement will be offered for two age groups: ages 2-3 and 3-5. Creative movement consists of introduction to french terms and movement focusing on coordination, teamwork, dance etiquette, and most importantly, learning the joy of movement.


Dress Code: Solid color leotard, ballet pink tights


Shoes: Pink ballet shoe (So Danca, #SD16)


Boys: White t-shirt, black pants, black ballet shoes






Twinkle Toes


Twinkle toes is a ballet, tap combo class for 4-6 year olds. This class is perfect for your little ones to learn ballet ​positions, musicality, and the foundation of their dance skills.


Dress Code: Solid color leotard, ballet pink tights


Shoes: Pink ballet shoe (So Danca, #SD16 )and black tap shoe (Capezio, #625)


Boys: White t-shirt, black leggings, black ballet shoes and black tap shoes.






Level 1

Level 1 is a 60 bminute class including Ballet, Tap, and Jazz for ages 6-8 Dancers will continue to build on their ​dance foundation by adding some sass and fun!


Dress Code: Solid color leotard, pink tights


Shoes: Pink ballet shoe (So Danca, # SD16), black tap shoe (Bloch #301 (lace-up)), tan jazz shoe (Bloch #470 ​"The Pulse")






Level 2

Level 2 (8-9) dancers will take two 45 minute classes. One ballet and one leaps and turns, conveniently ​placed back to back.


Dress Code: Solid color leotard, pink tights for ballet, other class students are able to wear athletic clothing


Shoes: Pink ballet shoe (So Danca, # SD16), black tap shoe (Bloch #301 (lace-up)), tan jazz shoe (Bloch #470 ​"The Pulse")


Boys: White t-shirt, black leggings, black ballet shoes, black jazz shoes and black tap shoes.






Level 3

Level 3 dancers, ages 9-11, will take one hour of ballet and two 45 minute classes consisting of jazz and ​lyrical., conveniently placed back to back.


Dress Code: Solid color leotard, pink tights for ballet, other class students are able to wear athletic clothing


Shoes: Pink ballet shoe (So Danca, # SD16), tan jazz shoe (Bloch #470 "The Pulse")


Boys: White t-shirt, black leggings, black ballet shoes and black jazz shoes




Level 4

Level 4 dancers, ages 11-13, will take 105 minutes of Ballet and Pointe, and 45 minutes of jazz ​and lyrical.


Dress Code: Solid color leotard, pink tights for ballet, other class students are able to wear ​athletic clothing


Shoes: Pink ballet shoe (So Danca, # SD16), tan jazz shoe (Bloch #470 "The Pulse"), Pointe ​Shoes(must be fitted at local dance shop)


Boys: White t-shirt, black leggings, black ballet shoes and black jazz shoes

Level 5

Level 5 dancers, ages 13-19, will take 105 minutes of Ballet and Pointe, and 45 minutes of jazz and lyrical.


Dress Code: Solid color leotard, pink tights for ballet, other class students are able to wear athletic clothing

Dance Team Preparation


Is your dancer planning to try out for a high school dance team? Our dance team preparation class will go over pom technique, dance team technique, and audition information. This class will give you the skills needed in order to be an active member of your dance team!


Dress code: form fitting dance clothes


Shoes: Tan jazz shoe (Bloch #470 "The Pulse")




Acro For dancers


For ages 8-12, and 13-19. Unique blend of dance and gymnastics disciplines. Core techniques include flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering, and tumbling. This style of dance and technique aims to enhance precision and showcase the athletic elements within dance today.


Dress code: form fitting dance clothes


Shoes: Barefoot





Hip Hop


Beginner, intermediate, advanced, and all boys Hip Hop will learn quick moves, isolation of arms, torso ​and legs, mixing jazz, rock, and pop for unique and personal dance interpretations. Teaches ​fundamental Break Dance moves and tricks, covering categories such as top rock, power moves, and ​freezes.


Dress code: Loose fitting dance clothes


Shoes: Plain WhiteTennis Shoes that will be used only for dance class





Tap

Intermediate Tap, ages 9-13, and Advanced Tap, ages 13-19 will learn precise rhythmical patterns using their feet and engage in a rhythmic dance style. Tap dancers will earn syncopations, choreography, and improvisation.


Dress code: form fitting dance clothes


Shoes: Black tap shoe (Bloch #301 (lace-up))





Twirling

Beginner baton twirling, ages 6-10, and intermediate/advanced baton twirling, ages 10-18, is an artistic and aerobic art combining dance and gymnastics while manipulating one, two, or three batons with the hands and around the body.


Dress code: form fitting dance clothes


Shoes: Tan jazz shoe (Bloch #470 "The Pulse")





Adult fitness

Trying to stay in shape or missing your love for dance? Come join our adult fitness and dance classes! You will alternate between tap, ballet, yoga, and barre classes.


Dress code: form fitting dance clothes


Shoes: Black tap shoe (Bloch #301 (lace-up)), tennis shoes, ballet shoes (So Danca, # SD16)


Cost: $15 a class or 10 class punch card for $110




Progressing Ballet Technique

Dancers 10 and up are welcome to experience a new type of Ballet training! Progressing Ballet Technique is a body-conditioning and strengthening program for students to improve muscle memory, range of motion, and technique. The goal is to help improve students' understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment.


Dress Code: Solid color leotard, pink tights


Shoes: Pink ballet shoe (So Danca, # SD16)

Elevation Dance Company will intensely train dancers (2nd-12th grade) to compete at a local, regional, and national levels through instruction in multiple disciplines of dance. This program will focus on technique, style, execution, and peer camaraderie. Company dancers will be challenged to their highest potential through curriculum and choreography tailored to their specific level and strength. Our core values are integrity, passion, effort, humility, and grace. We believe that all dancers can achieve anything they put their mind to.

Bring Out Your Swag Dance Company is a hip hop crew focusing on the importance of discipline, self-confidence, and swag. This program will focus on technique, style, execution, and peer camaraderie. Company dancers will be challenged to their highest potential through curriculum and choreography tailored to their specific level and strength. hyLand

Chelsea Hyland, who grew up in Bentonville, Arkansas, possesses a lifelong dedication to the art of dance, honed through extensive training in a diverse range of styles including ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop, clogging, and pom. Her unwavering commitment and talent have propelled her to achievements within the dance realm. During her time in Arkansas, Chelsea emerged as a distinguished dancer, securing a state dance championship and amassing numerous regional and national titles in dance competitions. Her performances captivated audiences and demonstrated her unparalleled skill and artistry. Motivated by a pursuit of excellence, Chelsea embarked on a new chapter in her dance journey by returning to her roots in Nebraska to pursue her collegiate aspirations. Enrolling at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, she was selected to join the Husker Scarlets Dance Team, an honor that showcased her abilities and reinforced her dedication to her craft. Beyond her personal accomplishments, Chelsea has become a respected figure within the dance community, having taught and performed for numerous individuals across the Midwest. Her commitment to sharing the beauty and significance of dance has left an impact on those she has encountered. Notably, Chelsea has emerged as a prominent choreographer for college and high school dance teams nationwide. Her creative vision and innovative choreographic prowess have earned her multiple awards, a testament to her ability to inspire and elevate dancers to new heights of artistic expression. Particularly noteworthy is her contribution to Nebraska's dance legacy, as she has led her choreographed routines to secure an impressive four state titles. With a passion and a steadfast dedication to her craft, Chelsea Hyland looks forward to continuing her journey as an influential figure in the world of dance. Her desire to share her love for dance with both children and adults is a testament to her commitment to the art form and the transformative power it holds. In the years to come, she aspires to inspire, uplift, and leave an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of all those she encounters .


B.O.Y.S director:

Vijay

Olander

Vijay T. Olander is from Lincoln, Nebraska. He has expertise in Tap, Hip Hop, Break, Step, and Bollywood dancing. He began his dance training at the age of eight under the leadership of Bob and Stephanie Chase at Chase Dance. He has been teaching since 2009 and loves sharing his enthusiasm for dance. He also has experience choreographing/judging for college and high school dance teams, including the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Scarlets, the Creighton University Dance Team, and Pius X Thunderettes Dance Team. Vijay has received multiple choreography awards at local and regional dance competitions. He is the director of the all boys hip hop company called “B.O.Y.S.” (Bring Out Your Swag) in Lincoln, NE, and is also the co-founder of the all boys hip hop company called “Pra-DA-Geezzz” in Omaha, NE. Vijay also was an apprentice on the “M.A.D.D. (Making A Difference Dancing) Rhythms” tap dance company in Chicago, IL for two years. Currently, he serves as a board member on the “Nebraska for the Arts” and teaches at multiple different studios across Nebraska sharing his passion for dance!

Allie

thompson

Allie Thompson is an accomplished teacher with a deep-rooted passion for the art of dance. Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, she began her dance journey at a young age, immersing herself in all dance styles. In 2011, she ventured to Northern California, where she trained for 3 years under esteemed industry leaders in hip hop, jazz, and contemporary. Since returning to Lincoln in 2014, Allie has spent years dedicating herself to teaching jazz, contemporary, and hip hop to a diverse range of students across Nebraska. Her expertise and innovative choreography have been sought after by studios and dance teams, with notable achievements in hip hop including a state championship and influential Master Classes at workshops across Nebraska. Her accomplishments showcase her ability to push boundaries and inspire dancers to reach new heights. Beyond dance, Allie has also excelled in the fitness realm. She obtained a lifetime certification through Pure Barre, the leading barre franchise in the country, in 2016. She has since delivered expert fitness classes to clients nationwide, trained competitive athletes at the high school, college, and professional level, and proven herself as a force within the fitness industry. Passionate about the art of dance and its transformative power, Allie is thrilled to join Elevation Dance Academy. She is excited to bring her diverse background, teaching skills, and infectious enthusiasm to inspire and empower students to discover their own artistic potential. With her wealth of experience and commitment to excellence, Allie is poised to make a lasting impact on the students of Elevation Dance Academy.

Brittany

Frewin

Brittany Frewin, born and raised in Houston, TX, began her journey with dance at the young age of three. Throughout her dance career, extensive training helped shape her skills and experience to include a wide range of styles such as hip hop, acrobatics, tap, contemporary, jazz, and ballet. Driven by relentless dedication, Brittany sought to train and compete with the most prestigious studios in Houston. During this time, she had the privilege of working with esteemed choreographers, including talent from shows "So You Think You Can Dance" and "America's Best Dance Crew". Gaining recognition as a competitive dancer, she went on to compete across the United States, acquiring multiple national titles as a soloist and team. Brittany's success inspired her to take up teaching positions at various studios, where she discovered a newfound enthusiasm for nurturing aspiring dancers. Her unwavering commitment to dance transcended into her college years, where she spearheaded a hip-hop dance crew, ultimately achieving the title of Steven F. Austin's Best Dance Crew. After completing her education, Brittany returned to her hometown of Houston. Outside of her business career, from 2013 to 2018, she dedicated time to choreograph for numerous studios, including elite middle school drill teams. In 2018, an exciting job opportunity brought Brittany to Nebraska from Texas. In addition to her business career, she soon found a way to enhance her skills and became a certified pure barre instructor. Driven by a burning desire to share her passion, Brittany shorty resumed her role in empowering and inspiring others through the art of dance. Eager to share her extensive knowledge and expertise, Brittany continues to find joy in teaching and building others in their dance journeys.

Mary

Householder

Mary Householder was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and developed her love of dance with Stephanie and Bob Chase at Chase the Spirit of Dance for 14 years. She was trained in several styles of dance including ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, contemporary, tap, twirling, and hip hop. She competed with the Chase Dance Company for 5 years, spending 4 of those years on the Senior CDC team, where she was a leader and role model for the many dancers on younger teams. During those years she competed and won awards for group and production dances in several styles including jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, and tap. Mary continued her dance career assisting ballet and pointe at the studio during her freshman year of college. She is currently a sophomore at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, and is studying Nursing. She is excited to take on a new role as a dance teacher and looks forward to working with your kids, encouraging them to develop their passion for dance, and teaching them to love what they do!


Twirling Teacher:

Kimberly

Vander woUde

Kimberly Vander Woude is a remarkable dancer and baton twirler whose passion for movement has shaped her dance career. Starting her journey at the age of 4, she quickly discovered her natural talent for baton twirling and embarked on a path that would lead to incredible achievements. By the time she turned 19, Kimberly had become a national champion in baton twirling. Her exceptional skills took her far beyond national competitions, as she had the privilege of representing her country on the international stage, competing against the world's finest twirlers.Not content with excelling solely in baton twirling, Kimberly also immersed herself in the world of dance. Throughout her entire twirling career, she embraced dance as a means to express herself and enhance her artistic abilities. Under the guidance of esteemed instructors from prestigious companies such as New York City Ballet, Backhaus Dance, American Ballet Theater, and Alvin Ailey, she refined her technique and honed her skills. Kimberly's talent and dedication also caught the attention of the Cornhusker Marching Band, where she held the position of Feature Twirler. Teaching has always been a passion for Kimberly, and she takes great joy in sharing her knowledge and expertise with others. With a commitment to making learning a fun and enjoyable experience, she inspires her students to explore their own potential and embrace the beauty of dance.
